Methanol

Methanol, also known as hydroxymethane, is an organic compound that is toxic. It is a saturated monohydric alcohol with a relatively simple structure. Its chemical formula is CH3OH/CH₄O, of which CH₃OH is a simple structure, which can highlight the hydroxyl group of methanol. The CAS number is 67-56-1, the molecular weight is 32.04, and the boiling point is 64.7°C. Because it is found in dry distillation wood, it is also called "wood alcohol" or "wood spirit". The lower dose of human oral poisoning is about 100mg/kg body weight, and oral intake of 0.3 to 1g/kg can be fatal. Used in the manufacture of formaldehyde and pesticides, and used as an extractant of organic matter and a denaturant of alcohol. The finished product is usually made by reacting carbon monoxide with hydrogen.
